Maz/PV

Our last night in Mazatlan was special. We spent the evening with the neighbors and enjoyed a wonderful feast. We really enjoyed our time at Villa Serena's and met some fantastic people there. 3 months went by extremely fast. Unfortunately, as we were leaving; new guest were moving in. We spent the last few hours with them and wish we had more time. Great bunch of people. We had intended on catching a bus late Saturday evening (11:00 p.m.) We packed up our bags said our finally good-byes and locked up the apartment. We left our keys with Judi & Terry in the event things didn't go well with our departure. Woo-hoo...we planned that right. We made it to the bus depot around 10:00 p.m. to find they had sold out of seats heading to Puerto Vallarta. What a bummer! Unfortunately, tickets are not sold in advance. They don't start selling the tickets until the bus arrives as the depot. Kind of silly. Little did we know we should have been at the depot a few hours before hand. But, on a positive note we still had a place to stay. We caught our taxi back to our hotel and retrieved our key. Thank God we thought ahead. The next morning we were up early and surprised our neighbors. What the heck was most of their responses. What happened? We filled them in and left again. This time we were at the depot several hours early. We caught a bus out around 10:30 p.m. to a city called Tepic. There we had to change buses to continue on to Puerto Vallarta. On Sunday's, bus schedules are limited. We had no choice but to travel "economy". Not too bad though...no chickens and we had A/C. The trip took longer since we had so many stops along the way picking up people on the side of the road. Part of the charm I suppose. We finally made it PV around 7:30 p.m. We are staying at a place called Puerto de Luna. Older resort but very nice/clean and large. It's located in the "hotel" district where there's lots of shopping and restaurants. PV lacks the charm of Mazatlan being that it's strictly a "resort town" but we're here only a week. We do have a couple of tours booked and a day of golfing. The weather has remained very nice. Mid 80's in the afternoon and cooling off to mid 60's in the evening. We miss you guys and wish everyone back home much love! Bonnie & Bob
